By now the name “Scott Derrickson” has become synonymous with possession and that pesky bastard, the Devil.  Derrickson is of course the director of 2005′s THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE, which arguably re-awakened our love of possession flicks.  His newest film, DELIVER US FROM EVIL, has some updates.  Originally slated for a January 2015 release, DELIVER US FROM EVIL has been moved to a summer 2014 release.  DELIVER is directed by Derrickson, written by Derrickson and Paul Harris Boardman, and stars Eric Bana, Édgar Ramírez, Olivia Munn, Sean Harris, Joel McHale, and Antoinette LaVecchia

In the film Bana plays an Irish Catholic cop working a case when he meets a renegade priest (Ramirez). Despite the cop’s beliefs, he’s convinced by the priest that there is a demonic element, and together they work to solve the case and combat the paranormal forces working against them. Munn plays the cop’s wife, who also has a tie to the case.  Screen Gems is hoping they have they next INSIDIOUS on it’s hands and that this film will develop into a franchise
